WHATEVER one’s opinion of the monarchy, or whether it would be strengthened or ultimately weakened by skipping a generation, William and Catherine’s forthcoming nuptials, presumably followed in due course by the production of an heir and spare, will significantly reduce the possibility of Harry or his descendents ever being sovereign – and that in itself is cause enough for celebration.
