Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at an Oxford city centre cafe.
A man walked into the Rainbow Café in Magdalen Street at about 9pm last night and told a member of staff that he had a gun and to hand over cash.
Det Sgt Steve Raffield said: “The offender, who had his face covered, left with £70 in cash. At no time was a gun seen by the members of staff.
“I appeal to anyone who was in the city centre yesterday evening and saw a man acting suspiciously near to the café to contact police.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Sgt Raffield via Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
