Drayton Wasps failed to make it 4 wins on the bounce when they dropped 2 points in this thrilling 4-4 draw at Botley on Sunday. Drayton took time to adjust to playing up the hill in the first half and were 2 down after 10 minutes. Drayton came more in to the game and pulled one back through Mason De Silva, and but for the woodwork and some wayward finishing, should have scored more. Botley added a third on the break just before half time. 3-1 to Botley at half time. Drayton levelled the scores early on with a solo effort from Josh Dennis and a penalty from Nick Webster. They really should have added to their total, but again, wayward finishing and the woodwork saved the home team. As Drayton pushed forward, gaps were left at the back, and Botley took full advantage when they took the lead again with a long range effort. Drayton never gave up and got their just reward when Josh Dennis bundled the ball over the line to make it 4-4. Drayton continued to push forward looking for the winner, but had to settle for a point. If only they had been awake in the first ten minutes !
