People in Oxfordshire should brace themselves for snow this week, the Met Office has predicted.
The snow will blow in from Scandinavia and Russia tomorrow, falling first in Scotland and the North East, before spreading to London and the South East by Friday.
The weather is being blamed on an early winter blast from the Arctic, with temperatures in some parts of the country likely to drop to -10C.
Drivers are urged to carry out simple vehicle checks before they set out, carry an emergency kit in their vehicles, monitor traffic and weather conditions, and plan their journeys in advance.
In January RAF Benson’s weather station recorded its coldest ever temperature, with the mercury dropping to -17.7C
