THEY are used to broadcasting their breakfast show from a comfortable studio in Oxford.
But from Monday, the morning crew at Jack FM are set for more dangerous surroundings as they become the first independent station in Britain to broadcast live from Afghanistan.
Newsreader Greg Burke, programme director and Oxford Mail columnist Sue Carter, anchor Trevor Marshall and propducer and reporter Rosie Tratt will be spending five days in Camp Bastion.
Using the equipment of the British Forces Broadcasting Service, the show will be beamed live to Oxfordshire.
The team, who fly out tomorrow, will deliver presents collected from families and friends in Britain.
Ms Carter said the Woodstock Road team were “nervous but excited.”
She said: “We have been planning this for about a year and hopefully everything will come together.
“There has been a lot of work behind the scenes but we are now ready to go.”
The show will be broadcast from 6am to 9am. See afghanistan.jackfm.co.uk
