TO MARK their heroic work in Afghanistan, 11 Explosive Ordnance Regiment, of the Royal Logistic Corps, from Didcot’s Vauxhall Barracks have had a locomotive named after them.
Following the ceremony at Didcot Parkway railway station yesterday, the train’s power car is now fitted with the plaque bearing the regiment’s name. Joining the ceremony were MP Ed Vaizey, Lt Col Gareth Bex, Keith Mitchell, leader of the county council, and Mark Hopwood, of First Great Western.
