THE head of a charity who has been given an OBE by the Queen for her work in cutting deaths caused by epilepsy has dedicated the award to those who have been bereaved by the condition.
Jane Hanna, 46, pictured with the medal, the founder director of Epilepsy Bereaved, lost her partner Alan Pring 20 years ago, following an epileptic seizure.
The Vale of White Horse District councillor for Marcham and Shippon, who lives in Charlton Road, Wantage, received the honour at Windsor Castle on Tuesday.
She said: “This award reflects on many courageous people and also on the memory of all the very special people who have died from epilepsy.”
