OXFORD: Serial scientifc entrepreneur Bruce Savage who is based in the city has joined Business Secretary Vince Cable’s new Entrepreneurs’ Forum.
The forum is being created to provide Mr Cable with informal and personal advice on new business and enterprise policies.
Mr Savage's role will be to advise the Government on how to encourage enterprise and entrepreneurship and break down barriers that deter people from starting a business. He will specifically represent the biotech sector and is the only member of the forum from Oxford.
He said: “I welcome this opportunity to ensure the business and financial environment will support the optimal growth of hi-tech small businesses since they represent the future economic growth of the nation.”
Mr Savage has co-founded five bioscience companies since 1991, most recently QSIant based at Upper Heyford which is researching a treatment for periodontal disease.
