PUPILS at the village primary school took a break from lessons in 1984 to plant 47 trees around the perimeter of the school field. They raised £50 for the project by organising a series of sales.
Boys from Bartholomew School gave an impressive gymnastics display at Long Hanborough fete in 1978. They are seen in the second picture creating a pyramid.
Fourth-formers from Bartholomew School threw a party for 80 primary school children in 1962, each giving a shilling from their pocket money towards the cost. The girls cut sandwiches and baked cakes, and the boys organised games. In the third picture, three-year-old Nicholas Ward, in a bow tie, takes part in a twist competition.
