THERE has been a lot of talk about the proposed link by rail to London via Bicester.
It is a pity that the old link via Thame and Princes Risborough was axed, because besides being shorter it provided a route when an emergency closed the route through Didcot and Reading.
One wonders whether the colossal sums needed to open the proposed fast route north from London would be better spent reopening some of the closed routes like the Thame and Witney lines.
