In April thousands of herbal products are likely to be removed from the market under the EU Directive on Traditional Herbal Medicinal Products (Oxford Mail, November 8).
Furthermore, qualified herbalists will be liable to prosecution if they continue to prescribe many of the pills, capsules, tinctures, ointments and mixes of raw herbs, etc that they currently prescribe.
The Oxford Mail is to be congratulated for breaking the almost total media silence on this.
We are holding a public meeting on the threat to natural medicine at Oxford Town Hall on November 30 at 7.30pm and I urge anyone concerned to come.
