LITTLE Grace Pointin could not hide her smiles as she wore her father’s war medals on Remembrance Sunday.
The 18 month old youngster had Damion Pointin’s Iraq, Afghanistan and Nato medals pinned to her jacket as she joined thousands in St Giles, Oxford, for the ceremony.
Before he left the services in January 2009, Guardsman Pointin, 26, right, was hailed as a hero for helping to save the life of one of his comrades in Iraq.
Last night Grace’s mother, Lisa Thompson, 36, said it was a proud moment for the family.
She said: “It was lovely to see her wearing Damion’s medals.
“She is probably too young to understand what is going on but one day she will learn about how her daddy won the medals.
“The whole ceremony was very emotional.”
