After a two week break, Ardington were looking to get back into the season with a win. The game started evenly with both sides finding it difficult to find their feet. It was five minutes in when Joseph Flanangan jigged his way through Marston's defence to slot home the opener. Despite taking the lead Ardington failed to press home the advantage and shortly after Marston equalised with a left foot strike from the edge of the area. Ardington then went behind from a long ball, when confusion between the defence and goalkeeper led to the ball being played blind for Marston to hammer the ball into an empty net. An Ardington team that looked jaded all game was again punished when a long ball dissected the defence and conceded again. A late effort from Flanagan hit the post, but this 3 - 1 defeat is a long way from the performance given at Quarry a fortnight ago.
