Cumnor Minors 1 Didcot Town Youth 4. Didcot had to come from behind in a hard fought contest between two good teams to keep their one hundred per cent record intact. In the opening game Cumnor came out of the traps fast and took the lead after five minutes with a fine goal, a drive from outside the area that gave Callum Denton no chance. Didcot fought back and efforts from Tyler Brown, Louie Bumpass & Liam Vaughan nearly levelled the score before half time. Didcot dominated the second half and levelled with a fine goal from James Pearson after he battled through several challenges before firing past the Cumnor keeper. The Cumnor keeper then produced some fine saves to deny James Pearson & Declan Hargreaves before Didcot grabbed the winner in the last couple of minutes of the first game when Declan Hargreaves turned in a cross from the impressive man of the match James Pearson to make it 2-1.
The second game was tight throughout but Didcot created the better chances and after Ben Marshall & Josh Lyons had gone close Nathan Sandland put Didcot in front on the stroke of half time with a deflected shot from outside the area. Cumnor forced a couple of good saves from Jack Tinsley in the second half but Didcot scored a second goal with a flowing move involving man of the match Jamie Barrett, Nathan Sandland, Joseph Madge, Jack White and Ben Marshall who fired home from outside the box. The game finished 2-0 to Didcot (4-1) on aggregate. The games were played in good spirit by two excellent teams and were superbly refereed.
