A 39-year-old pedestrian died last night after a collision with a lorry near Faringdon.
The man was on the A420 when the crash happened shortly after 8.20pm on Friday.
An off duty police officer was the first person on the scene and, along with the driver of the HGV, gave the man first aid.
He was taken by paramedics to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon, but died shortly after arriving.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the collision in Faringon. The HGV driver, who was uninjured, is helping police with enquiries.
No arrests have been made.
The A420 was closed for four hours while officers investigated and diversions put in place.
