A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been remanded in custody in connection with the stabbing of a teenager outside an Oxford nightclub.
Mahesh Bennett appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The charge follows an alleged incident outside Baby Love, in King Edward Street, in the early hours of Sunday, October 31, in which a 16-year-old boy was stabbed.
Jonathan Stone, prosecuting, told Record Hodge Malek: “It’s a case concerning a stabbing outside a nightclub.
“I understand the injuries are not life threatening, but the victim said he received 12 stab wounds.”
Mr Stone said that he believed police investigations into the incident were ongoing and added: “It may well be that other people are charged with this offence. “It’s an incident involving certainly more than two people,” he said.
Bennett, who appeared in a white zip-up hooded top, spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood proceedings.
No bail application was made by his barrister John Simmonds and Bennett, of Mora Street, London, was remanded in custody to enter a plea on January 14.
