YESTERDAY, the county fell silent at 11am to remember the fallen of the two World Wars and other conflicts.

In November 1960, British Legion Poppy appeal organisers Mrs D Edmonds and Mrs L Power were pictured at Oxford Town Hall preparing poppies for distribution to street sellers.
