Craig Simmons (Oxford Mail ViewPoints, November 2) is correct in suggesting that one prominent Labour councillor was in favour of incineration.
The two of them may well have disagreed on the issue in the pages of the Oxford Mail.
Mr Simmons is, however, less than fair in seeking to attribute the same view to other Labour councillors.
I myself was one of the Labour county councillors he falsely accuses of supporting incineration.
If he had bothered to explore back copies of the Oxford Mail a little more closely, Craig Simmons would have discovered that I have publicly and consistently opposed incineration since 2004.
