Compton Verney presents a weekend filled with science fiction activities for families this weekend.

Linked to the exhibition, The Starry Messenger: Visions of the Universe, the drop-in workshops are designed to entertain all ages and the activities are free with gallery admission.

Bottle Rocket Trials take place in the grounds of Compton Verney and participants will be encouraged to design, make and test rockets created from recycled materials.

While Milky Way and Mushrooms offers an opportunity to create a mixed media artwork inspired by the exhibition and Sci-Fi Stories, led by storyteller Clive Dennis Cole, are of tales inspired by the exhibition.

The gallery is in 120 acres of spectacular grounds. A special ticket price for families is on offer, with free admission for children under five.

The exhibition, The Starry Messenger: Visions of the Universe continues until September 10 and includes paintings, drawings, photography, music, sculpture and large-scale video installations.

Compton Verney is near Kineton, north west of Banbury. Nearest exit on M40 is junction 12.
