BRIDES and grooms-to-be will be able to plan their special day on Sunday thanks to the Oxford Mail’s Wedding Fayre.

Specialist stalls and professional advice will be on offer at Witney Lakes Resort, Witney.

More than 20 stands will cater for every need, from florists and photographers to cake makers and honeymoon organisers.

There will also be two fashion shows, with professional models strutting their stuff in collections from Witney firms Proposals and Blossom Bridal and Occasion Wear.

The event runs from 11am to 3pm, with the fashion shows at 11.30am and 1.30pm. Entry and parking is free and all brides-to-be get a goodie bag with a host of wedding-related information.

Oxford Mail exhibitions manager Rachel Legg said: “The Fayre is about putting our readers in touch with the best sellers in the wedding business to help them make their day extra special.

“It’s the perfect opportunity to speak to experts in each field and get great ideas to help people plan the most important day of their lives. They can expect to meet local exhibitors who are genuinely interested in making their day perfect.

“This is the fifth Fayre this year and we’ve had really positive feedback, with brides-to-be finding it really useful with their preparations.”

Clare Gee, partner at bridalwear shop Proposals, said: “We haven’t exhibited at Witney Lakes Resort for two years, so we are glad to be back there and able to show some of our new collection.

“People can expect to see a selection of up-to-date wedding gowns by award winning designers – it’s going to be really exciting.”

Witney Lakes marketing manager Lauren Tufton said: “There seems to be a big turnout in terms of the number of exhibitors, and it gives the resort a really nice atmosphere.

“It has been very popular in the past and it’s a great opportunity for us to support local businesses, who in turn support us.”
