AN amateur photographer captured the beauty of Oxfordshire’s wildlife in a series of stunning snaps.
Terry Godfrey, 64, spent hours sitting in a hide near his home in Cassington to get the shots of kingfishers and owls.
The retired Oxford University research worker said patience was the key to a good photograph.
Using a 300mm camera lens with an extender, Mr Godfrey caught the moment a kingfisher emerged from the River Thames and later snapped another holding a fish.
He also captured two young owls nesting in a tree.
Mr Godfrey, from Lynton Lane, said: “I was really pleased to get these pictures.
“I’ve never been a professional photographer and only took it up properly when I retired.
“I have plenty of time to spend waiting for the photos and it’s very much trial and error — you will have a lot of near misses before you get it right. To get the picture of the owls I got up at 4am.”
