Burglars stole a man’s gold watch, a mobile phone and an 18ct gold Air France medal in a Headington break-in.
Between 8.10pm and 8.45pm on Monday, burglars forced their way into the property in Highfield Avenue.
The medal is engraved with the message “20,000 HEURES DE VOL, AIR FRANCE” and on the back it is engraved with “HAUSSMAN JEAN, 1970” or “1971”.
Det Con Charlotte Dunford, of the Oxford burglary team, said: “The medal is an unusual item and was of sentimental value to homeowner.
“I would like to speak to anyone who has any information about this incident or who recognises the description of any of the items that were stolen.
“If you have seen these items then I would ask that you come forward and speak to me as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Con Dunford via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
