Oxford United beat Swindon 1-0 last night...on the new FIFA 11 game for the PlayStation 3, at least.
Launched yesterday, the popular game features Oxford United for the first time in years after the U’s return to the football league.
It means fans can emulate their idols and take on local rivals like Swindon or Reading at the click of a button. United players, from left, Damian Batt, Jake Wright and Rhys Day – pictured with, from left, Jamie Brooks, store manager Dan Blything, and Ryan Bird – were on hand at Gamestation in the Westgate Centre to get a look at their games console alter-egos.
Mr Day said: “I am a big fan of it and my little brother George has it and he is buzzing when he beats his big brother. Everyone on the team says they’re the best at it, but I am the best.”
l Oxford United have appealed to fans not to smoke anywhere in the ground ahead of today’s clash with Port Vale. Anyone caught smoking could be ejected from the stadium and handed a ban.
