One problem with The Issue is that it seems the contributors are not always told exactly what the question is that they are supposed to be debating, even when they are careful to ask.

On September 24, it looked as though I was saying ‘no’ to the question “Should legal parties be allowed to run all night?”

In fact, I have no objection to them running all night, as long as they don’t keep many hundreds of people awake.

If it’s after midnight, if several people complain and if the music is louder than it really needs to be, the police and/or the council must tell the organisers to turn it down.
