B-day for residents of the Vale starts today as we will now be getting our rubbish collected on alternate weeks, which is fortnightly in normal language.
I must have missed any consultation meetings asking for the opinions of the council tax payers before this operation was put into service.
Now instead of one green box on a Monday and either one or two plastics bags on a Thursday, I have three wheely bins and a green caddy that as a storage container would enhance any garage or workshop.
The instructions we are given are that the crew collecting these bins must be able to reach them by only putting one foot on our property.
If they are a little further back does this mean they will not be emptied ?
They are also telling us that we will not be fined if we dare to put the wrong rubbish in our different coloured bins.
They will leave a note telling us where we went wrong.
How long before they employ some jumped up little jobsworth on an over-inflated salary with a bonus scheme to dish out fines to as many people as possible for committing such a serious offence.
Have these council members forgotten that they are there to serve and not, as the last government thought, there to rule?
