PUPILS at Bartholomew School performed Toad of Toad Hall in 1963. In the picture immediately below, Eric Batts, who played Badger, is seen with fellow cast members checking their lines in the dressing room before going on stage.
The school held a mammoth fete in 1970, raising £700 for school funds. At one of the stalls, four children – from left in the middle picture, Clive Rainbow, 13, Jacqueline Timms, nine, David Rainbow, 10, and Sarah Timms, six – offered rabbits for sale at 2s 6d each.
What is the difference between a mushroom and a toadstool? It was the job of Helen Treadwell, left, and Jane Wastie, both 11, to find out during a lesson in the 1960s.
