SIX students at Abingdon and Witney College are preparing for a sponsored walk to raise money for Children in Need.
The students will walk eight miles from the college’s Abingdon campus through Radley and Kennington to Oxford city centre on November 19.
When they reach Oxford they will continue their fundraising by handing out Children in Need balloons, stickers and leaflets. They hope to raise £500.
Catherine Hart, 16, said: “Children in Need is such an important cause.
“I have a friend who has cerebral palsy and she was helped by the charity. She had a couple of meetings with a counsellor and she came out of herself so much.
“The difference in her is so noticeable, and I would like to help other children in the same situation.”
The students are raising money for the charity as part of their extended diploma in health and social care.
Course leader Sarah-Jane Arnold said: “I’m extremely proud of their achievement.”
