A new exhibition drawing on design ideas from post-Second World War Britain has opened at Modern Art Oxford.
Artists Simon and Tom Bloor have created a makeshift ‘yard’ using painted wooden fences and shrubbery to explore architecture and landscape design.
They have used structural forms from post-war developments in the exhibition, called Hit and Miss, which runs at the Pembroke Street museum until November 21.
The show also features a series of posters and a short film, inspired by material in the museum archives about past exhibitions.
A spokesman for Modern Art Oxford said: “The fencing is used in a variety of ways, as a maze-like screening structure and as a means to create intimate resting spaces in the yard.”
The brothers will be at the museum on Saturday, October 9, for a fun afternoon of colouring and drawing from noon to 4pm, followed by an In Conversation event at 6pm. For full details, call 01865 722733 or see modernartoxford.org.uk
