Police are appealing for information after a robbery at petrol station in Henley.
The incident happened at about 9pm on Sunday, September 26, at the Jet petrol station in Reading Road.
The cashier at the station went out to check the pumps on the forecourt and as he returned to the shop, a man appeared behind him and placed a sharp object in his back.
He was then pushed back into the shop, where another man appeared. He went behind the counter and stole money from the till and cigarettes. The same man then went into the rear of the store and removed the hard drive for the CCTV cameras.
The two men then left on foot carrying a white plastic bag and the CCTV unit.
The cashier did not see the first man, but said the second man was 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall and medium build. He was wearing a black balaclava and black clothes.
Det Sgt Alun Watkins said: “I would like to speak with anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, who may have seen these two men either arriving or leaving the scene.
“Anyone with any sort of information regarding this incident should come forward as soon as possible and help us with our investigation.
“The store immediately replaced the CCTV unit following the robbery and measures have been taken to improve the security at the site.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Watkins via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
