YESTERDAY you reported that Oxford City Council confirmed its intention to close Temple Cowley Pools.
In the same breath the councillors on the executive board say there is now a question mark about the funding for the new replacement pool at Blackbird Leys. Everyone, including the council and Cllr Bob Timbs knew that long ago, but the council still insist on closure.
As I’ve said before, closing Temple Cowley Pools has nothing to do with saving the city council money.
It is solely intended to raise money by selling the site for development, with the council getting its grubby little hands on several million pounds to waste, probably on consultants to say why Temple Cowley was closed and why the new pool will never be built. It's always someone else's fault never theirs.
