Blue Peter presenter Helen Skelton opened a new building at Oxfordshire’s largest primary school. Miss Skelton cut the ribbon at the new two-storey building at Barley Hill Primary School in Thame, before pupils interviewed her.
Patrick Greene, vice-chairman of Oxfordshire County Council, was also a guest of honour at Tuesday’s ceremony. The new building includes six classrooms, four group activity rooms, PE changing rooms, and a medical room.
Solar panels and extra insulation have been installed to make the building more eco-friendly.
Headteacher John Hulett said: “The new building is already making a tremendous difference.
“For the first time in the 16 years I have been headteacher we have every child learning in a purpose-built permanent teaching area and every year group able to work together in one part of the school.”
