A crash caused delays this afternoon for motorists heading south on the M40 out of Oxfordshire.
A two-vehicle collision closed the southbound carriageway between junction five at Stokenchurch and junction four at High Wycombe Handy Cross Roundabout. Traffic is reported as taking 45 minutes to travel between the junctions.
Lanes one two and three were closed by the collision which happened at about 2.30pm, with the hard shoulder still open to traffic.
Emergency services are on the scene.
