Police today appealed for witnesses to an armed raid on a pub in Oxford in which £16,000 was stolen.
Between 11pm and 11.30pm, on Sunday, a member of staff was cashing up at the Hobgoblin pub, in Cowley Road, when two men forced their way in with weapons.
They stole about £16,000 in cash and left the building.
Police said the raiders were white, aged in their forties and were wearing dark clothing with their faces covered. One was wearing white trainers and was carrying an olive shoulder bag.
Det Con Nick Hills said: “The Cowley Road would have been fairly busy at this time of night. I appeal to anyone who saw two men acting suspiciously near to the pub just after closing time to contact police.”
Anyone with information that could assist police enquiries is urged to contact Det Con Hills via the Thames Valley Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police and don’t want to leave your name contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
