BURGLARS stole computers, iPods and cash in a spate of burglaries and an attempted burglary in the Summertown and Jericho areas of Oxford.

Police are linking the thefts in Juxon Street, Banbury Road, St Bernard’s Road, and Hamilton Road which took place between Thursday, September 16, and last Thursday.

Pc Darren Pomroy said: “All the burglaries have been committed during the day, between the hours of 8am and 8pm while the occupants have been at work. In some of the incidents, thieves have taken advantage of insecure windows or doors.

“I would encourage everyone to make sure that they lock their windows, doors, and garden gates and consider installing rear security lights.”

In Juxon Street, a laptop was stolen from a house on Friday, September 17, and another laptop and an iPod were stolen from a second address in the road on Monday, September 20.

On Thursday, September 16, a laptop, an iPod and cash were stolen from a house in Banbury Road.

Last Thursday, a computer, laptop, whisky, a camera, and cash were stolen from a house in St Bernard’s Road.

Thieves tried but failed to break into a house in Hamilton Road on Saturday, September 18.
