uch time Councillor Mitchell finds to write letters to the Oxford Mail on such a wide variety of subjects.

Perhaps I can bring to his attention the fact that his ruling Conservatives have almost brought secondary state education in Oxford to its knees with GCSE results among the worst in the country. Only in Hull does a state-educated pupil have less chance of going to university.

I am loathe to suggest that both may have something to do with the Tory writ not running in Oxford, but can I suggest that he finds the time to have a harsh word with his unfortunate cabinet position holder – and do something about it soon, for all our pupils’ sakes.
