A stunning portrait of Sir Winston Churchill has caught the attention of one of the world’s leading experts on the Second World War leader.
Abingdon artist Danny Rogers is hoping his portrait will be used as the image for the cover of historian Richard Langworth’s Finest Hour magazine.
Mr Langworth CBE is a world-renowned Churchill expert and has edited the magazine since 1982.
Mr Rogers, 36, a former London ambulance technician, lives in Stratton Way with his partner Dominique and his 13-month-old daughter Rosy.
He started painting portraits of famous faces two years ago.
He said: “I contacted Mr Langworth and was delighted when he said he would be keen to use my portrait of Churchill on the cover of the winter edition of the magazine. It hasn’t come out yet but I’m really looking forward to seeing it.”
His other portraits include Prime Minister and Witney MP David Cameron and the Enigma codebreaker Alan Turing.
