A HOUSING association is to begin legal action to evict three residents over allegations of antisocial behaviour and drug taking at a block of Banbury flats.

Other residents in Samuelson Court have complained of drug use and dealing, fights, shouting, and people coming and going late at night in recent months.

Cherwell District Council, Thames Valley Police and housing association A2Dominion yesterday released a statement to assure residents they are tackling the issue.

Police raided flats and A2Dominion has launched legal action to evict three residents.

Insp Neville Clayton, of Thames Valley Police, said residents had been interviewed. He said: “A key part of tackling the problems at Samuelson Court is working with residents to gather evidence that will be vital if criminal or civil cases are to be brought.”

Laurinda Hornblow, A2Dominion’s north area director, said: “We are now in a position to begin civil proceedings against some of the identified perpetrators who have breached their tenancy agreement by causing antisocial behaviour.”

The council’s executive member for planning and housing, Michael Gibbard, said: “Enhanced partnership working is being instigated to resolve the difficulties at Samuelson Court.”
