Two vans have been involved in a crash on the M40 this morning between junctions ten for Brackley and nine for Bicester.
The incident happened at around 5.50am, but the central barrier was damaged and fuel spilled onto the road.
One of the vans was left on its side and the motorway was initially closed heading southbound, although the road has now been reopened.
The incident has caused severe tailbacks along the motorway and on diversion routes, including the A41.
