THE Nepalese community, who have recently moved into the Rose Hill area of Oxford, have shown by example that they care about the environment they live in.
Instead of locking themselves up in their new homes, they have ventured out and helped to clean up Rose Hill (Oxford Mail, August 31).
However, I would like others to know that this is not their first endeavour to introduce themselves.
Only a few weeks ago, on August 21, they invited Rose Hill residents to a display of their music, dance and martial arts, followed by a taste of their spicy cuisine.
Many attended the event, and I am sure everybody enjoyed the day and had an insight into their culture.
Let us hope that the spirit which the Nepalese have brought to the area will thrive – and that all residents will take pride in making Rose Hill cleaner and greener.
