LORRY-MAKER Daf, which has its UK head office in Thame, is among several manufacturers being investigated by the Office of Fair Trading over suspected price-fixing.
The OFT raided Mercedes-Benz’s office in Milton Keynes and arrested its UK commercial vehicle division’s managing director, Ian Jones, who joined Mercedes in 2002 from Daf. He was later released on bail.
Daf Trucks marketing director Tony Pain said the firm had received notice of the inquiry and was working with the OFT, but added that investigators had not visited the Thame office.
