A motorcyclist suffered a broken ankle after colliding with a car which drove off without stopping on the Eastern Bypass.

He was riding a black Yamaha Virago motorcycle approaching the Heyford Hill roundabout from Cowley at about 7.20pm on Sunday when it collided with a silver VW Golf.

The motorcyclist, who is in his 40s, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Pc Ed Crofts said: “I’m keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has information which will help us trace the car driver.”
