SAM Duckworth, otherwise known as artist ‘Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly’, visited Witney yesterday to meet fans.
Music-lovers packed independent record store Rapture for the short performance, which followed his show at Oxford’s O2 Academy on Sunday night.
After playing solo acoustic versions of songs from the his self-titled album, the musician, pictured, signed autographs and posed for pictures.
The artist previously played at the store in 2006 to celebrate the launch of first album, The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager.
The Essex-born, part Burmese singer said: “It’s great to be back at Rapture. I’ve got a real affinity with Oxfordshire, and a lot of my friends grew up in Witney.
“I had a great time last time I was here and it was equally good today.”
Rapture’s manager Mark Sharman said: “It was excellent to have him back. He said every time a new album came out he would be back to support local record stores.
“It really helps us, and gives us something a bit different to bring people in.”
Fan Rachael Ballard, 24, from Witney, said: “It was pretty intimate, which was really good.
“It’s always nice for Sam to come to Witney.”
