I AM looking into my family history and have found out that my grandfather was not born as a Tasker, as we thought he was, he was born Herbert Walter Thomas Webb, in 1923 in Market Bosworth, Leicestershire.
His father was Walter Webb, born in 1888, and his mother was Gladys G Sabin.
We are looking for any connections to Walter Webb, who was a coal miner when he filled in his application for the First World War.
We know that Gladys ended up in Oxfordshire where the name Tasker was acquired.
If anyone can help us piece together any information regarding Walter we would be very pleased to hear from them.
