Marston Saints entertained Didcot Town A on a fine morning at Boults Lane in what was expected to be a good footballing clash. Indeed it was a game of two halves with Marston taking control for most of the 1st half and looking comfortable throughout. The 1st goal being the result of a fine passing move to create space for Tom Warner who ran into the box and fired into the top corner. Marston's 2nd goal came before the break following good work by Lamide Adewuyi to create the opportunity from midfield for Arther Galley to run on and slot the ball home. Marston created more chances through the half but were not able to extend the lead and nearly got caught by some great counter attack football by Didcot.
In the 2nd half Didcot Town came out looking to improve and got better & better as the half progressed. Whilst limiting Marston's chances they created numerous opportunities to score and eventually a chance was created from a corner which Marston failed to deal with and the ball was put in the net by Charlie Evans. At 2-1 Didcot continued to press forward looking for the equaliser but were denied thanks to some last ditched defending by Marston's back four and goalkeeper. The Saints managed to survive and make it to the end of the game with the lead intact. Well done to all players for an entertaining game of football played in the right spirit
