OXFORD’S BMW Mini plant is supporting the children’s lantern procession through the city centre in the run-up to Christmas.
The car company will fund school and community lantern-making workshops, thanks to its partnership with cultural development agency Oxford Inspires.
Artists will work with children and use recycled materials to create lanterns for the Christmas Light Night on November 26.
The event will include the Christmas lights switch-on and an evening of art, music, dance and performance in galleries, theatres, museums and open spaces.
A lantern workshop will be held at the plant in Cowley, with the company promising a special Mini twist.
