VOLUNTEERS from the Co-op in Oxford picked up their paintbrushes to help a motoring project which supports young people.
The team from the Co-op in Osney Mead went into action at TRAX, a charity for those aged 13 to 19.
The seven volunteers from the firm’s distribution centre sanded down and painted the outside of a former shipping container at TRAX’s base opposite, which has been converted into a workshop for mud buggies.
Team leader Mr Thompson said: “We enjoy taking on challenges to help local organisations.”
TRAX works with schools, colleges and the Youth Offending Service to help 400 young people a year by teaching them to work on motorbikes and cars and improve self-esteem.
Project manager Lyndon Biddle said: “The team liaised with us beforehand on what needed to be done and came along and did a very good job of painting the exterior of the container.”
