WE keep hearing scaremongering about speed limits being ignored, as was stated on the front page of the Oxford Mail on Monday, but where’s the proof?
What are the statistics of accidents and injuries concerning vehicles since the cameras have been switched off, against the same periods over the past 10 years? Why are people panicking and making rash statements without justifiable evidence?
As much as I hate to say it, I think, for once, the county council has acted correctly due to central government cuts, and should be applauded for its decision.
Complaints of a health and safety risk should be directed at the new coalition Government and not at the end-users, who are trying to balance the books with forced cuts on top of an already tight budget.
