Police today appealed for information after two burglaries in Henley, where burglars used tools to open doors via letterboxes.
Burglars broke into a house in Elizabeth Road between 10pm on Thursday and 6.20am on Friday, by using a tool to open the front door of the property from the inside. A laptop, camera, and wallet and purse containing cash and credit cards were stolen.
Then on Friday morning, burglars used the same method to gain entry to another house in Elizabeth Road and stole an iPod Nano and a laptop.
PC Emma McGrath said: “The burglars have been able to gain entry to the house as the doors were not double locked from the inside.
“I would urge people to always keep their windows and doors locked, even when at home, and especially at night.
"I would also urge people to ensure that all valuables are left out of sight and in a secure place.
“If there is anyone with any information about these incidents I would ask them to come forward and help us with our investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact PC McGrath via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505. Alternatively, you can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
