CEREMONIES to present long-service awards were a regular occurrence at the Cowley car factories.
High wages and relatively secure jobs meant many workers stayed for years.
This presentation took place in 1979 when the latest group reached 25 years of service.
The pictures come from Kathleen Hill, of Cowley, whose late husband Bert was one of the recipients.
He is the middle of the front row, in the bow tie, in the group picture, and is seen receiving his gold watch from a member of the senior team in the other.
Mrs Hill writes: “My husband worked there for 43 and a half years. I cannot name any others, but I hope other readers who remember this occasion will do so.”
Over to you.
