This was a great match in perfect conditions. Cholsey played stylishly from the start and it was against the run of play when Ivan Trofimov struck a lovely opener for Quarry. Cholsey maintained their pressure and scored twice including a great free-kick by Oli Simpson. A deflected equaliser for Quarry was not enough to stop Cholsey going on to take a 3-2 half time lead.
Second half pressure from both sides saw three goals. All three went Quarry’s way with Frank O’Brien’s pace a notable factor in his two. Cholsey were left to rue several scoring chances which looked sure to count. Second half Quarry defending, most notably by Sean Rounding also played its part in the final result.
Both teams showed great spirit and should be very proud of their performances.
